How To Analyze The Water Seepage of OPGW Cable?

Four Methods fot analyzing OPGW optical cable water seepage problems:

 1. Observe whether the water blocking paste in the cable core is fully filled and whether the water blocking paste swells. After the sheath layer is peeled off, first observe the cable core, whether water seeps in the cable core, the filling of the water blocking paste and whether it swells to determine whether it is caused by insufficient filling of the water blocking paste.

2. Cut the water-permeable cable sheath horizontally, about 5cm in length. In this step, a sharp blade should be used to cut the sheath layer flatly to facilitate the next step to accurately analyze the cause of water seepage of the cable; when peeling off the sheath, look for the tightness of the sheath to the cable core, and consider Whether the sizing mold is suitable.

3. Re-cut the water seepage cable to two sections of about 1m, peel off the cable core about 5mm, peel off the PE sheath layer to expose the composite tape about 5mm, separate the overlap of the composite tape by about 2mm, and reinsert this section of the cable into the water seepage rack In order to find out the exact cause of the water seepage in the coiled cable and take relevant preventive measures in time, observe where the water drips from the cable and review the conclusions that have been drawn.

4. Look at the cut surface of the stripped jacket, see if the composite tape at the edge of the composite tape is formed well, and see if the metal tape forming mold is intact. Through such an analysis, it is generally judged whether the fiber optic cable has entered water. If there is water, it must be replaced in time.
